ENGLISH VERSION BELOW! Einige von euch, besonders die, die in der (Xtra-)Raw Szene unterwegs sind, werden in letzter Zeit bestimmt schon auf auf seinen Namen gestoßen sein oder einen seiner Tracks gehört haben. Derjenige, über den ich hier spreche, ist „Deadalus“. In einem exklusiven Interview teilt Alan seine sehr persönliche Geschichte mit uns. Außerdem verrät er uns mehr über seine Musik und deren Style, den er selbst als ständig wechselnd beschreibt.
Ich glaube meine erste Frage ist besonders interessant für unsere Leser. Darüber hinaus hast du sie vielleicht auch schon das ein oder andere Mal gehört… – Wie hat das alles bei dir angefangen und warum? Wie bist du auf die Idee gekommen DJ und Producer zu werden?
Also, das ist eine sehr lange Geschichte, aber
ich werde versuchen mich so kurz wie möglich zu fassen. Vor zwei bis drei
Jahren befand ich mich in einer echt schwierigen Zeit meines Lebens – Ich
wollte mich selbst umbringen. Also habe ich eines Tages entschlossen von einem
Gebäude zu springen. Dafür ging ich in eine Stadt in der Nähe meiner Heimat und
kletterte über die Feuerleiter auf ein Hausdach. Ich saß also dort oben und
meine Beine baumelten über dem Abgrund. Ich wollte einen letzten Blick auf
Social Media werfen und scrollte meine Startseite runter. Dann sah ich etwas
über das neue Album von Malice. Weil ich ein großer Fan bin, wollte ich mir das
noch anhören, bevor ich springen würde.
Nachdem ich mir das Album angehört hatte, habe ich mir noch einige
Live-Performances der beiden angeschaut. An dem Tag sprang ich doch nicht.
Anschließend habe ich meine Denkweise von Grund auf umgestellt. In Zukunft
wollte ich genau das machen, ich wollte genau diese Freude an andere weitergeben!

Geschichte mit uns teilst. Unglaublich, was Musik bewirken kann…
Ich hoffe es ist dann auch okay, wenn ich meine nächste Frage ein bisschen
indiskret stelle: Wie kamst du in Kontakt mit Gearbox Revolutions bzw.
wie kamst du an deinen Vertrag?
Dadurch, dass ich ein großer Fan bin und sowieso
schon Kontakt mit anderen Artists des Labels hatte. Wie zum Beispiel mit
Krowdexx, die mir auch viel beim Produzieren geholfen haben.
Ich habe mich selbstständig entschieden, dass ich unter diesem Label releasen
will. Einige meiner Freunde kannten Phil schon und er hat sie gefragt, ob sie
neue Talente kennen. Mein Name fiel und er hat mich kontaktiert, um zu sehen,
was ich vorzuweisen habe. Daraufhin wurde, wie du bereits weißt, Come &
get some unter dem Label Revolutions und Music is my suicide
auf dem Gearbox Lockdown 2.0 Album veröffentlicht. Darüber hinaus
unterschreibe ich für jeden Track einen unabhängigen Vertrag mit Gearbox
Revolutions.
Mit Music is my Suicide, Come & get some und drei weiteren hast du bereits fünf Tracks insgesamt released. Kannst du uns mehr über die Geschichte hinter diesen und die Produktion verraten?
Die ersten beiden Tracks sind eigentlich älter. Aber ich wollte sie nicht wegschmeißen, weil ich damit so viele schöne Erinnerungen verbinde. Der erste Style, den ich ausprobieren wollte, sollte ziemlich aggressiv werden und dafür nahm ich Unresolved als Beispiel. Ich baute Taking over control so auf. – Eben mit einem dynamischeren und aggressiveren Style. Bei dem zweiten Track, also der Collab mit Necrosis, habe ich dann beschlossen offener zu arbeiten und wir haben etwas Emotionales und auch Raues produziert. Leider ist mein Großvater in der Zeit, in der wir an Music is my suicide arbeiteten, verstorben. Das hat zu einem sehr viel härteren Style geführt, als ursprünglich geplant war. Ich habe einen besonderen Kick erstellt, welcher dann ebenfalls für den Drop verwendet wurde. Ich mag den Track so lieber, wie er im Endeffekt geworden ist. Aber ich experimentiere immer wieder.
Außerdem kann dir nicht genau sagen, was in der Zukunft kommt, da mein Style sehr locker und freilaufend ist.
Interessant zu hören, dass du den Style von Music is my suicide aufgrund von persönlichen Umständen verändert hast. Übrigens ist mein Lieblingstrack von dir ist definitiv Taking over control, der zweite Fake-Drop ist absolut krank!
Mir ist außerdem aufgefallen, dass du in drei von fünf Tracks Fake drops benutzt. Würdest du sagen, dass das so dein Ding oder dein Markenzeichen ist?
Ich weiß nicht, ob man das als mein Markenzeichen bezeichnen kann, aber ich muss ehrlich sein: Ich mag es wirklich gerne, diese zu benutzen. Ich werde wohl in Zukunft nicht in alle meine Tracks Fake-Drops einbauen, aber ich finde es generell besser. Zumindest werdet ihr nie wissen, wo sich einer versteckt. (lacht)
Da wir gerade über deinen Style sprechen… Wie würdest du diesen in nur drei Wörtern beschreiben:
Forever changing style (Ständig wechselnder Style)
Ich frage mich außerdem, wo du Inspiration findest. Gibt es Artists, zu denen du aufschaust?
Ohja, ziemlich viele! Wie bereits erwähnt, Krowdexx haben mir am Anfang viel beigebracht und tuen es immer noch. Ich kann immer auf sie zählen und sie nach Feedback fragen. Darüber hinaus: Unresolved, Malice, Sickmode, Anderex, Deezl, Rooler, The Purge, Vazard, Physika ,Luminite , Rebelion und die ganze Apex Gruppe, nur um ein paar zu nennen.
Auf deiner Instapage hast du ein Bild von dir mit Glatze gepostet, welches mit der Unterschrift „1000 Follower, ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass das so schnell geht! Danke euch allen, Leute! Wir haben gesagt Glatze, also ist es jetzt eine Glatze“ versehen war. Also frage ich mich, ob du deine Haare nur kahl rasiert hast, weil du an dem Tag die 1K Follower Grenze geknackt hast. Und falls ja, was wirst du dann wohl tun, wenn du eines Tages die 10K Follower erreichst?
Ja, im Prinzip war das die Idee meiner Freundin. Sie hat mich herausgefordert, also haben wir das eben gemacht: Einen Livestream, in dem sie mir die Harre geschnitten hat. (lacht) Ich weiß noch nicht, was ich bei 10K Followern machen werde, aber irgendwas werde ich mir auf jeden Fall einfallen lassen! (lacht schon wieder)
Nun lass uns über deine neue Musik reden. Auf was dürfen wir uns in Zukunft freuen?
Ich arbeite momentan an einer EP, auf der ich
vier bis fünf Tracks veröffentlichen werde. Das wird sehr interessant, weil die
EP in Betracht auf Styles und Sound ziemlich breit gefächert sein wird.
Nach der EP sind zwei neue Solo Tracks und einige, nice Collabs geplant. Die
ersten werden mit Ace, Avoc, Arzadous and Kenai sein.
Du hast in einem Q&A auf Instagram schon erwähnt, dass wir uns auf einige Gast-Releases auf anderen Labels im Jahr 2021 freuen dürfen. Kannst du uns ein bisschen mehr darüber verraten?
Ich kann schon verraten, dass es im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes auf einem savage Label einen Gast-Release geben wird und zusätzlich zwei Collabs.
Was ist das größte Ziel, was du als DJ oder Produzent erreichen willst?
Meine Ziele? Ich glaube da gibt es einige. Aber mein größtes sollte es wahrscheinlich sein zusammen mit Aleandro und Davide (Sickmode und Malice) zu arbeiten. Denn wegen ihnen bin ich eigentlich noch am Leben und mache Musik, hahaha.

„Forever Changing Style“ – Xtra Raw with Deadalus
Some of you, especially the ones who are present in the (Xtra-)Raw scene, should have already heard of him or listened to one of his brutal tracks. The name of the new Rawstyle talent I´m talking about is “Deadalus”. Alan shared his very personal story and talked about his always changing style in an exclusive interview with us.
Let´s start with the first question: I think my first question is a very interesting one for our readers and beyond that you may have already heard it a few times: How did you start and when? How did you come up with the idea of being a producer/ DJ and why?
Well, it’s quite a long story but I’ll try to make it
as short as possible. 2-3 years ago, I was in a really bad period of my life, I
wanted to commit suicide. So, one day I decided to jump from a building. I went
to a city near my hometown. I went on the rooftop, thanks to the emergency
stairs. I sat there with my legs at the edge of the void. I started to roam one
last time on social media. I was scrolling down and I saw something about the
album of Malice. Being a big fan, I wanted to listen to that before I would
jump.
After listening to the album, I watched some live performances from Malice.
That day I didn’t jump, I changed my mindset completely. I wanted to do that, I
wanted to bring that ambiance and that joy to people!
Wow, thank you for sharing this really personal experience with us! – Unbelievable, what music can do…
I hope it is okay then, if I ask my second questions so indiscreet: How did you come in contact and got the contract with Gearbox Revolutions?
Through being a big fan and having contact with some of the artists of the label, who helped me in producing, such as Krowdexx.
I decided that I wanted to release there. Some of my friends knew Phil and he asked them for some names. Mine came up, he contacted me to see what I had and as you know Come & get some went for Revolutions and Music is my suicide on the Gearbox Lockdown 2.0 album. I sign each track independently with Gearbox Revolution.
With tracks such as Music is my Suicide, Come & get some and three others you already released five brutal Rawstyle tracks in total. Can you tell us more about the production process and the story behind your tracks?
The first two tracks are old tracks that I didn’t wanted to trash due to all the good memories linked to them. The first style I tried to create was something really aggressive and for that I took Unresolved´s style as an example. I built Taking over control like that. – A more dynamic and angry style. I then decided to go more open for the secondtrack, it was the collab with Necrosis, we made something emotional and raw. Sadly, my grandfather passed away during the time we were working on Music is my suicide. That led to having a way much harder second drop as what I wanted initially. I made a specific kick which is the one used too for the drop. I prefer the track as it is now, but I’m always experimenting.
Furthermore, I don’t know what’s coming in the future, because my style is freewheeling.
Interesting to hear how you changed the track Music is my suicide due to personal circumstances. By the way, my favorite track from you is definitely Taking over control, fake drop in this one is absolutely dope! Moreover, I noticed that you used fake drops in three of five released tracks. Is this kind of your thing or your trademark?
I don’t know if I can call it my trademark, but I have to be honest: I really like to do it! I won’t put a fake drop in all my tracks, but it’s better that way. At least you won’t know if there is one coming up! (laughs)
Since we are talking about your style… How would you describe your own style in only three words?
Forever chancing style
I wonder, where did you get your inspiration from? Are there some artists you look up to?
Yes, a lot! As I said before, Krowdexx taught me a lot when I started out and they still help me, I always can count on them for questions or feedback. Moreover: Unresolved, Malice, Sickmode, Anderex, Deezl, Rooler, The Purge, Vazard, Physika, Luminite , Rebelion and the whole Apex group just to name a few.
On your Instagram page you posted a photo from you bald headed with the caption “1000 followers, didn’t expect to have them that fast! Thank you all guys! We said bald head, so a bald head it is!” – So, I´m wondering, did you shaved your head just because you reached 1K followers this day?
And if yes, what are you going to do, if you reach 10K followers one day?
Yeah basically it was my girlfriend’s idea, she challenged me and so that´s what we did: A Livestream where she cuts my hair (laughs). I don’t know what I’ll do for the 10K, but I’ll do something for sure! (laughs again)
Now, let´s talk about new music. What is coming in the future?
I’m working on an EP right now, where I’m going to put on four or five tracks. This will be very interesting because the EP is really diversified in styles and sounds.
After the EP there are two brand new solo’s and some really nice collabs planned. The first ones will be with Ace, Avoc, Arzadous and Kenai
You already mentioned in a Q&A on Instagram that there are some guest releases coming in 2021 at other labels? Can you tell us more about that?
I can already say that I’ll be releasing in one of a hella savage Label a guest release and two collabs.
What is the biggest goal, you want to achieve as a DJ or producer?
My goals? I think there are a lot, but I think that the biggest goal has to be working with Aleandro and Davide (Sickmode and Malice) as it is thanks to them that I’m still alive and doing music, hahaha.
