On Thursday THE festival of the scene calls all Weekend Warriors for the 18th time. The Camping Grounds of Defqon.1 will once again offer a home to all Harder Styles Fanaticz for four days and on the Holy Grounds memories will be made for eternity. In order to be prepared for the weekend of your life, you will find all the information at a glance in our article.
The Hard Facts about Defqon.1 2023
Last year Defqon.1 opened its doors to the World of Madness for the first time for a whole four days. And this year, four days full of Madness await you at Defqon.1 – Path of the Warrior once again.
The opening hours
With a full four days of the festival, it’s easy to lose track of the opening hours on each day. But do not worry, so we have all opening hours clearly summarized for you.
Camping Grounds – Check-in
Camping Grounds check-in will be possible from Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. until Saturday evening at 11:59 p.m.
In addition, you can get help around the clock at the info stands on the camping ground.
On Monday, 26.06.2023 at 12:00, you must have left the camping area.
Festival area
The festival grounds are open Friday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. each day.
The Gathering
At The Gathering we celebrate the beginning of the Defqon.1 Festival every year. This year all visitors with a Weekend-Camping-Ticket will have access to three stages on Thursday:
18:00 – 22:45 on the BLUE | 18:00 – 23:00 on the BLACK | 18:15 – 23:00 on the INDIGO
How to get there
By car
The address of the parking lot for the camping is: Evenemententerrein Biddinghuizen // Spijkweg 30 // Biddinghuizen // The Netherlands.
We recommend you, to buy parking tickets online in advance. It is also possible to buy parking tickets on site, but only with a card.
If you arrive by car, you have to go through the main entrance and you will be automatically directed to campsite 5-6. According to the new mobility rules, you are not allowed to visit your friends at Campside 0-4 until Friday morning.

Priority Parking
If you want to travel by car but don’t feel like camping on campsite 4-5, you can buy a Priority Parking ticket. The parking lot for Priority Parking ticket holders is located north of Campside 0 and gives you access to it. Unfortunately, Priority Parking tickets are no longer available on the official website, but you can still try your luck on Ticketswap.
By public transportation and bus
Also this year there will be shuttle buses from Dronten, Ceentral Station to the festival area and back. Below you can find the times when the shuttle buses will run:
Dronten to Defqon.1
- Thursday, July 22, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Friday, July 23 08:00 – 14:00
Defqon.1 to Dronten
- Sunday, June 25 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
- Monday, June 26 09:00 – 15:00
There are also buses from national and international pick-up points. You can find out more about this on the Q-Dance website.
The line-up and timetable
For four days of Defqon.1, hundreds of DJs from all subgenres of Harder Styles await you on over 10 stages. – From Euphoric Hardstyle, to Raw and Hardcore, to Uptempo and Terror.
New this year: the Green and Orange Stage on Friday.

The After-Parties
What would a real festival be without an after party? All those who have not yet had enough of the day’s program, and still want to party on at night, can „dance out“ their last bit of energy at the after-parties.

The Anthem
The honor of designing the Defqon Anthem for the year 2023 was given to no one other than scene stars Sub Zero Project.
The Dutch DJ duo created a worthy anthem for this year’s edition with a diverse mix of hardstyle and rawstyle.
Five and a half minutes of power, good kicks, epic vocals and a beautiful melody.
One thing is guaranteed: During the Sub Zero Project set and final show, this hymn will definitely give you goosebumps and a tear or two.
The Experiences at Defqon.1
For those whose adrenaline level is not high enough yet: take a look at this years bookable activities. For example, you get shaken at the Polyp Ride or even do a bungee jump!
However, if you’re of a different breed and are more in need of some relaxation, you can come down with a massage, spa in the pool or in the shisha lounge.
The Sunday Morning Brunch on the Red Stage will also be back in 2023. You can buy tickets for the activities in advance online.

This year there will be the Warrior Workout again on Saturday morning at 11:00 am. In addition, Terror Speed Dating will be returning. If you want to know what else is offered, check the timetable or keep an eye on the socials of Q-Dance and Defqon.1.
The Defqon.1 Theatre with Sefa
For all Sefa fans and lovers of emotional moments, Q-Dance has something special up its sleeve this year. Over nine months of hard work went into the concept for a theater, which will now be filled by no one other than the „Frenchcore God“ Sefa.
Unfortunately, all tickets for the theater are already sold out.

The weather forecast
So far, unfortunately, the weather forecast looks rainy. Thursday and Saturday should be cloudy, Friday and Sunday the sun will join us at the festival grounds. With temperatures 15-24 degrees you should definitely also pack long pants and don’t forget your rain jacket. Rubber boots should also find their way into your festival bag as a precaution.
However, the forecast can still change, because it’s early summer and in the Netherlands the weather usually does what it wants anyway. Therefore do not bring only rain gear but also a pair of shorts.
Camping Essentials
Whether it’s a tent, rubber mallet, duct tape or a camping light, you can’t go without the most important camping essentials for a successful weekend. We got you covered: find our packing list for each weekend festival here.
What else you should know
You are only allowed to take drinks onto the campsite when you first go in. Note here that you are officially allowed to bring a maximum of 4.5l per person of soft drinks and drinks under 14.5% alcohol. But you can bring unlimited food with you. Apart from that, there will be no cigarettes available for purchase on the festival grounds as well as on the camping grounds. Smoking is not prohibited, however.
