Russland. Ein Land in welchem die Harder Styles Szene zu einer der kleinsten Underground-Szenen zählt, doch dennoch lebt und wächst. Wie ist es in Russland ein Hardcore Label zu gründen? Welche Vorteile und Nachteile bringt es, sich in einem der kleinsten Musik-Genres des Landes zu bewegen? Und wie geht man mit Angst um, die viele Menschen vor der russischen Hardcore Music Szene haben? Wir haben mit den Gründern des Labels Recharged Records gesprochen, um euch Insights zu geben.
Die verankerten Vorurteile einer „halb-kriminellen“ Musik-Szene brechen, die Popularität des Hardcores steigern, um dieses Genre für möglichst viele Menschen zugänglich zu machen und damit den Menschen in Russland zu zeigen, dass es dabei nichts zu befürchten gibt. Und allem voran natürlich gute Musik zu machen, sich gegenseitig zu helfen und Producer auf ihre Weise zu unterstützen, um das Niveau der Hard Dance Music in Russland zu erhöhen. Das ist die Idee hinter Recharged Records und was die Menschen hinter diesem Label bewirken möchten. Das ist wofür sie stehen und das ist auch der Beweggrund, der sie zu dieser Entscheidung ermutigt hat.
Russischer Szene-Talk
„Natürlich ist Hardcore in Russland nicht so weit verbreitet und berühmt, wie in Europa, trotzdem durfte sich das Genre in den letzten vier bis fünf Jahren an gewaltigem Zuwachs erfreuen“, erzählt mir einer der Gründer von Recharged Records. Dem kann ich nur so zustimmen, denn Russland darf mittlerweile einige große Hard Dance Festivals wie Masters of Hardcore Russia, Under Pressure, Moscow Madness, Hardcore Hurricane und Russian River Cruises, inklusive Auftritte von vielen lokalen und auch internatioanlen DJ, zu seinem Repertoire zählen.
Auch die Verkaufszahlen dieser Festivals steigen, wie die ausverkaufte MoH Russland, mit nahezu 6.000 Besuchern, beweist. Somit ist nun der perfekte Zeitpunkt für die Gründer von Recharged Records die große Anzahl an hingebungsvollen Fans und Producern zu vereinen, gute Musik zu kreieren, sich gegenseitig zu unterstützen und unsere geliebte Musik zum ersten Mal in ihrem Land großartig zu machen.
Aber wer steckt eigentlich hinter dem Label und dessen Visionen? Offizieller Eigentümer von Recharged Records ist Encoder, welcher auch ein Teil von Bloodfire ist und bereits auf Dogfight Records releaste. Außerdem sind auch einige russische Newcomer, sowie DJs die bereits auf verschiedenen europäischen Labels released haben, Teil des Labels. Darunter befinden sich Encoder, Rowdy, Till The End, Realiner, D-Freq, Rancor Spike, Revolxist, Surgery, Cyberwave und Kibo.
Zwischen Zukunftsvisionen, positiven Aspekten & Anforderungen
Eine der, für uns alle, wichtigsten Fragen ist aber natürlich: Was kommt bei Recharged Records auf uns zu und was dürfen wir in nächster Zeit erwarten? „Die erste VA Compilation wird schon am 28. August auf allen Plattformen released, danach folgen Single Releases, EPs und Collaborations mit europäischen Artists.“, erhalte ich als stolze Antwort auf meine Frage. Auf jeden Fall erwartet uns, in diesem Jahr, noch jede Menge brandneue Musik, die nicht nur in das Genre Hardcore fallen wird, sondern sich über die gesamten Harder Styles erstreckt.
Die erste Compilation wird unter anderem Tracks von Artists wie Bloodfire (Dogfight), Warmonger (Offensive Rage) und Psychoweapon (Smash Records enthalten.
Ein reines Harder Styles Label wie Recharged Records in Russland zu finden ist auf jeden Fall eine Seltenheit, doch: „Neben all den Schwierigkeiten mit denen wir in der russischen Hard Dance Szene zu kämpfen haben, ist es dennoch ein großartiges Gefühl ein Teil davon zu sein. Wir haben eine einzigartige Community mit Fans, die eine wahnsinnige Hingabe mit sich bringen und lokale Veranstaltungen, sowie DJs unglaublich unterstützen. Dies ist, was uns am meisten auf unserem Weg inspiriert und motiviert.“, werde ich über die Vorteile und Nachteile aufgeklärt.
Und langsam wird auch mir klar, dass die Unbekanntheit des Hardcores in diesem Land zwar einige beschwerliche Seiten beinhaltet, doch auch einiges Positives zu bieten hat. In Mittel-Europa können Anhänger der Szene DJ-Größen wie Angerfist, Miss K8 oder Mad Dog nahezu jede Woche (bis auf in Zeiten von Corona natürlich) bestaunen, doch in Russland sind die Menschen hungriger auf die gesamte Musikrichtung, da der Markt bei weitem nicht gesättigt ist. „Genau das ist unsere Ansatzweise, auch wenn uns selbstverständlich bewusst ist, dass wir erst am Beginn unserer Reise sind und jede Menge Arbeit auf uns wartet, um Hard Dance Musik bekannter zu machen und so viele Menschen wie möglich dafür zu begeistern.“ ergänzt mich Maxim (alias Kibo).
Zu guter letzt wollte ich wissen welche Anforderungen ein DJ erfüllen muss, um Teil des Labels Recharged Records zu werden und die Antwort war genau so einfach und klar, wie die Ansprüche: „Liebe Hard Dance Musik, sei bereit hart zu arbeiten, deine Produktionsfähigkeiten jeden Tag zu verbessern und deine Teamkollegen zu unterstützen und ihnen zu helfen. Recharged Records ist offen für Collaborations in jedem Style der Hard Dance Music.“

Russia. A country where the Harder Styles scene is one of the smallest underground scenes, but still lives and grows. How is it to found a Hardcore label in Russia? What are the advantages and disadvantages of working in one of the country’s smallest music genres? And how do you deal with the prejudices that a lot of people have against the Russian Hardcore music scene? We spoke to the founders of the Recharged Records label to give you an insight.
To break the anchored prejudices of a „semi-criminal“ music scene, to increase the popularity of Hardcore in order to make this genre accessible to as many people as possible and to show the people in Russia that there is no reason to be scared. And above all, of course, to make good music, to help each other and to support producers in their way in order to raise the level of Hard Dance Music in Russia. That’s the idea behind Recharged Records and the goal that the people behind this label want to achieve. This is what they stand for and this is also the motivation that encouraged them to make this decision and found their own label.
Russian scene talk
„Of course, Hardcore is not as widespread and popular in Russia as in Europe, but the genre has enjoyed tremendous growth in the last four to five years,“ one of the founders of Recharged Records tells me. Which I can only agree with, because if you take a closer look, Russia can include some major Hard Dance festivals such as Masters of Hardcore Russia, Under Pressure, Moscow Madness, Hardcore Hurricane and Russian River Cruises, including performances by many local and international DJs, to its repertoire.
Furthermore, the attendance of these festivals has been increasing incredibly, as the sold-out MoH Russia, with almost 6.000 visitors, proves. Therefore, now is the perfect time for the founders of Recharged Records to unite the large number of dedicated fans and producers, create good music, support each other and make our beloved music great in their country for the first time.
But who is actually behind the label and its visions? The official owner of Recharged Records is Encoder, who is also part of Bloodfire and has already released on Dogfight Records. In addition, some Russian newcomers, as well as DJs who have already released on various European labels, are part of the label. These include Encoder, Rowdy, Till The End, Realiner, D-Freq, Rancor Spike, Revolxist, Surgery, Cyberwave and Kibo.
Between future visions, positive aspects and requirements
One of the most important questions for all of us is of course: What can we expect from Recharged Records and what can we look forward to in the near future? „The first VA compilation will be released on all platforms on August 28th, followed by single releases, EPs and collaborations with European artists.“ is the proud answer I get to my question. In any case, there is still a lot of brand new music waiting for us this year which will not only fall into the Hardcore genre, but will contain the entire Harder Styles.
The first compilation will hold tracks from artists such as Bloodfire (Dogfight), Warmonger (Offensive Rage) and Psychoweapon (Smash Records).
Founding a pure Harder Styles label like Recharged Records in Russia is definitely a rarity, but: „Besides all the difficulties we have to deal within the Russian Hard Dance scene, it’s still a great feeling to be a part of it . We have a unique community with fans who bring an amazing dedication with them and support local events and DJs incredibly. This is what inspires and motivates us most on our way. „, I get informed about the advantages and disadvantages.
And slowly I also realize that the lack of awareness of Hardcore in this country has some arduous aspects, but also some positive perspectives to offer. In Central Europe, fans of the scene can marvel at DJ greats such as Angerfist, Miss K8 or Mad Dog almost every week (except in times of Corona, of course), but in Russia people are hungrier for the entire genre of music, as the market is by far not saturated. „This is exactly our approach, even if we are of course aware that we are only at the beginning of our journey and that a lot of work is waiting for us to make Hard Dance music more popular and to involve as many people as possible in it.“ complements me Maxim (aka Kibo).
Last but not least I was interested in which requirements a DJ has to fulfill to join Recharged Records and the answer was as simple as the requirements are: „Be in love with Hard Dance music, be ready to work hard, to learn and improve your producing skills every day and support and help your teammates. Recharged Records is open for collaborations in any style of Hard Dance music.“
